Running in Winter
In winter Whistler receives snow to the valley floor which covers the singletrack and the Valley Trail. Some sections of the Valley Trail are plowed and are suitable for running, with proper preparation.
Check the weather conditions before starting, and be sure that you are prepared to deal with snow- and ice-covered surfaces on your run. Winter running shoes or traction control devices are highly recommended.
Other options for getting a good workout over winter include using the indoor gyms and swimming pools, nordic skiing and snowshoeing.
Training
There are many gyms and fitness facilities in Whistler where you can train indoors if you need a quick work-out or prefer to stay dry on wet or snowy days.
