Excellent peruvian food. We started with happy hour but ended up ordering full size dishes. The salmon, chicken skewers, loved the shrimp with salmon and sweet potato, the corn bread is to die for with the butter and yes, loved the peruvian donuts with the ice cream. 10:10

Absolutely incredible experience! The food was amazing and tasty. Every dish kept exceeding our experiences. Our server, Bash, was very knowledgeable and recommended so many good dishes based on our pallet and preference. Would highly recommend her.

We had the most amazing ?? experience at this gem of a place ?? . We walked by as we liked the restaurant (Basalt I think was the name) that was located here previously. And wow, were we knocked off our feet. The ambience is great and the vibe of the upbeat soulful music gets your spirits ??up. It’s not just background music ?? like other places, so you don’t hear people talking, even though tables are close in proximity. The food was so tasty??, it may be the best food we’ve had in a couple years..and we have been trying all the Michelin rated places in Vancouver this year!! It’s creative and fresh and hot. The interesting presentations are all about flavour, not just looks. We had the most amazing service by Bach (pronounced Bash). From the minute we sat down, she connected us with drinks and food that fit each of our tastes., There are unique offerings like cassava and plantain (which are a South American and African secret tasty food that people haven’t realized). The cocktails ?? are to die for. I have not had that many cocktails at one restaurant. It turns out they have been developed specially for the menu, by a connoisseur. His name is Joe. I have to find this guy. He has apparently also developed the cocktails at Published on Main and other places. We were skeptical…was Bach ??literally a magician, (as all suggestions were so good) or was everything at this place amazing. So we canceled all other reservations and went here 3 nights in a row. The second night we didn’t drink, as we wanted to remove all factors of altered experiences. Wow.?? So impressed from the first cocktail to the last dessert…holy shit. I’m not sure I should be telling everyone about this place…as likely I won’t get a table there. It’s already busy and jumping. My husband is planning another trip to Whistler next week and is planning to hit this place a couple more times. ??

????? Absolutely incredible experience at Balam in Whistler! It was our first time here, and we were blown away by the vibey atmosphere and great music set. The restaurant offers both indoor and outdoor seating, and even in winter, the outdoor area was warm and cozy with heaters. The Whistler vibe made the whole experience even more amazing. The tacos with pork were hands down the best—so flavorful and highly recommended! The ribeye was an incredibly fresh cut, cooked to perfection. Cocktails? Loved them! Such a comfy, vibrant, and lively spot—definitely a must-visit in Whistler. Highly recommended!

There are some amazing restaurants in Whistler and during our 5 day stay my wife and I went to some amazing ones. This was the best one and the only one we came back to. The food and drinks are incredible and reasonably priced, and you get much more than what you pay for in exceptional quality. The first night on New Year’s Eve we only intended to come here for drinks before our dinner reservation. We sat at the bar and I had the This Used To Be A Cigar Lounge, a drink anyone who lives a classy drink, like the old fashioned, and sophisticated smoky drinks would love. My wife had the Casa Margarita. Both were delicious and fantastic and the presentation was beautiful. We looked around and the food people had looked amazing so we ordered the Nikkei Ceviche and the vegan Tiradito. Let me tell you it’s hard to describe in words how phenomenal they were. I don’t usually like vegan food but it was so good. The ceviche was the best I ever had and I thought the ceviches I had in Barcelona could never be topped. Our experience was so unforgettable that we had to come back for a proper meal, this time lunch, on our last day in Whistler. We would have been back here a few more times if we went here earlier. This time we had the Truffle Ceviche, which was as good as the ceviche the night before, meaning extraordinary, as well as the Iberian Pork Tacos and the grilled Chicken Anticucho. All of the drinks and the food we had on those two visits were absolutely world class. My mouth is watering just thinking about it over a month later. The atmosphere is also very eclectic and fun and the decor is beautiful and elegant, which creates a wonderful ambiance adding much to the experience. To top it all off the service from the bartender the first night and our waitress the next day was impeccable - friendly, nice, professional courteous, attentive and warm. I can’t wait to be back next time I’m in Whistler!
