Editor’s Note: This post on spring break in Whistler was originally written in 2018 and has been updated with new ideas, links and images.
There’s no beach in sight, but Whistler’s an awesome place to come for spring break. There are fewer visitors than in the peak months, which means oodles of open terrain for you. Spring is also known to bring more snow, last year Whistler had 261 centimetres fall in March and another 103 in April.
Average room rates are much lower than in peak season too, so this is the time to get a bargain on your accommodation. Plus, for every third night you book between March 1 and April 30, 2025, you receive a free $75 CAD Whistler Après Voucher, valid in over 60 Whistler bars and restaurants.

It’s also the World Ski and Snowboard Festival, April 7 to 13, which combines spring energy with Whistler’s unique mountain culture for a week of non-stop events and action on and off the slopes. There are ski and snowboard comps, music, art, photography, filmmaking, a pumping nightlife scene and some of the best skiing and après sessions of the season.
Here are the top ways to escape the real world this spring break when you get to the mountains.
