In the heart of the Coast Mountains, Whistler is a sanctuary where the wild meets the refined, where every trail, tree and turn tells a story of respect and reverence for our extraordinary planet.

Although environmental gratitude is deeply ingrained in the ethos of the Whistler community, we are behind on some of the targets we set to hit in 2030. Knowing this, it’s even more important for us to come together, locals and visitors, to get back on track so we can protect what matters.

Earth Day to Earth Week with AWARE

AWARE, which stands for Association of Whistler Area Residents for the Environment, has worked with the community for three decades to deliver inspiring evidence-based solutions to the environmental issues that affect Whistler.

They believe that our world is at a pivotal moment and that a collective voice from citizens will help encourage governments and the private sector to take a leading role in the environmental crisis. Businesses, community organizations and individuals all hold the power to influence change. Every person’s actions are vital and Earth Week is a great time to learn what you can do to help move the dial.

This year, AWARE is leading a week-long series of workshops, presentations, events and fundraisers to take action and mobilize the Whistler community. Starting April 17, get involved and invite family, friends and colleagues to join AWARE and celebrate Earth Week. Let’s make this more than a moment, let’s make it a movement.
