Updated August 2018.

Crankworx 2017 will go down as a year where Whistler locals showed dominance across the disciplines and visitors reveled in dusty conditions during the week long MTB fest. The final and arguably the most famous stop in the Crankworx World Tour was – as always – a fitting end to the middle of summer, and a reminder that there’s not much time left to get in the laps before the snow flies.

Winners and Grinners

Special congratulations to locals Jesse Melamed and Brandon Semenuk for snaring top place in the Enduro World Series and Red Bull Joyride. Like many Whistler events, Crankworx was an international affair with riders from the Czech Republic, France, Columbia, the US, Canada and Australia scoring top of the podium. And of course, big high fives to Adrien Loren of France and Jill Kintner of the USA for being crowned the King and Queen of Crankworx for 2017.

Thanks to everyone who came out to ride and cheer for the athletes – the atmosphere in Whistler during the festival was unbeatable and you are the ones who make it so. Check out our recap below, and make sure you block some time off this August to visit Whistler for Crankworx 2018.

She’s collected scars, bikes for (almost) every occasion, a small trail dog and a love of craft beer plus a rudimentary understanding of skiing, snowboarding, sketching, and the art of chairlift conversations. She currently believes a combination of gravity, snow, dirt and rad people are what make Whistler tick but investigations are ongoing.
