Whistler Mountain opened today and the conditions were pretty much perfect. Runs and lifts were limited to standard early season options but a week of snow leading up the opening (65 cm in total) made the mountain look top notch and ride even better – and that 25 cm of fresh sure didn’t hurt. A couple of us managed to sneak up for a few turns this morning and we’re pleased to report that there were plenty of powder turns to be had and winter is, without a doubt, here.

Check out the stoke from Day 1 in the video and photos below. Happy turns!

She’s collected scars, bikes for (almost) every occasion, a small trail dog and a love of craft beer plus a rudimentary understanding of skiing, snowboarding, sketching, and the art of chairlift conversations. She currently believes a combination of gravity, snow, dirt and rad people are what make Whistler tick but investigations are ongoing.
