Looking for a laid-back dining experience? Tucked away from the hustle and bustle of Whistler Village, Main Street is a budget-friendly place to grab a casual bite and eat at local, dining favourites. In this stretch behind the Village Stroll across from Whistler Olympic Plaza, you’ll find plenty of locally-owned restaurants, each with a unique menu and a focus on fresh and thoughtfully made food. Many of these hidden gems offer great value for money and cater exclusively to walk-ins, so no reservations are required. It’s the perfect place to pick up a delicious meal that you can take back to your accommodation.
Here are a few of our Main Street favourites for take-out food:
Crêpe Montagne
Sample a little taste of France, right in the heart of Whistler. Crêpe Montagne cooks up savoury and sweet crêpes and other mouth-watering delights, including raclette and cheese fondue. This shop got its start as a popular Whistler Farmers’ Market stall before it became a full-fledged restaurant. The owners — Laurence and Michel Gagnon — proudly focus on fresh, quality ingredients and make their batters and sauces in-house. Dine-in or order Crêpe Montagne to go with Whistler Dine-In services.
When to go: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
What to order: Indulge in a savoury ham and cheese crepe in béchamel sauce or a sweet crêpe filled with house-made lemon curd.

La Cantina
There’s a reason why they call themselves “The Taco Cartel”. The La Cantina menu carries a host of mouth-watering meat and vegetarian dishes with the rich flavours and punch of spice that Latin food is known for. Pepe Barajas, founder and president of Infinity Enterprise Group, brought authentic Mexican cuisine to Whistler with his restaurants La Cantina and The Mexican Corner, something Whistlerites have been very thankful for ever since. Founded in community values and inspired by Mexican street food, La Cantina is a must visit for anyone who enjoys original and delicious tacos, burritos, quesadillas and salads. They also have a second location by Nesters Market.
When to go: Lunch & Dinner
What to order: Try a melt-in-your-mouth chicken tinga taco or go full vegetarian with a slow-cooked jackfruit taco.

Peaked Pies
First comes love, then comes pies. These handmade Australian pies are essential eating on the Whistler take-out food tour. Peaked Pies was founded by Kerri and Alex, an Australian-Canadian couple who fell in love in Whistler and bonded over their love of Aussie pies. Hit this hotspot for savoury and sweet pies, artisan coffee and desserts. While their meat and vegetarian pies are a sight to behold, those with a sweet tooth will not be disappointed either. There’s a pie for every taste!
When to go: Breakfast, Lunch & Dinner
What to order: Check out their sumptuous steak, bacon and cheese pie, or try the mentil lentil for a vegetarian favourite. For dessert lovers, the Lamington is a must-have.

Splitz Grill
Dubbed one of the best burger spots in the Village, Splitz is a burger lover’s paradise. Open since 1997, Splitz got its start as a tiny 10-seat burger joint, but due to popularity it quickly doubled in size. This homestyle burger shop — owned by couple Trevor and Miriam Jackson — offers a variety of meat burgers, including beef, Canadian lamb, free-range bison and wild salmon. There’s even a double stacker burger for those with more of an appetite. Their house-cut fries are a great addition to the meal. Vegetarian, gluten-free and Beyond Meat options are also available.
When to go: Lunch & Dinner
What to order: Try the Poutine Burger for a bit of Canadian flair or the Hippie Burger for extra veg.

Whether it’s a smoothie, a veggie wrap, fresh-squeezed juice or a Buddha bowl, this is a great place to fuel up on superfoods any time of day. The shop is also adjoined to a retail store, 3 Singing Birds, with plenty of fun artisan finds. You’ll find their second Whistler location in Function Junction.
When to go: Breakfast & Lunch
What to order: The collard wrap with a side of their house “Liquid Gold” dressing is to die for.

Mount Currie Coffee Co.
This tiny artisan coffee shop is a delightful export of Whistler’s northern neighbour, Pemberton. Mount Currie Coffee Co. has won the Pique Newsmagazine’s “Best Coffee” five years running, so you’re in for a treat. If you’re looking for take-out food, swing by for a coffee and grab a sandwich or healthy bowl to go. Their coffee is roasted by Pallet Coffee in Vancouver and makes for a perfect souvenir. While you’re in the shop, check out featured work by local artists hanging on the walls.

More Dining Favourites from Main Street
Main Street isn’t all about take-out food, here are a few more restaurants to check out in the area:
- Hunter Gather – A casual eatery and taphouse with a rustic-industrial vibe and a focus on locally sourced ingredients. They also offer take-out and have online ordering.
- Tandoori Grill – With the only tandoor oven in Whistler, the Tandoori Grill offers truly unique, traditional Indian cuisine. You can also order online for pick-up or delivery.
- The Deli by Picnic – This is the brainchild of Whistler local, Amy Mac who loves to put together incredibly stunning (and delicious) charcuterie and cheese platters. She’s taken her love for meat and cheese a step further by opening The Deli, where you can get a gourmet sandwich or picnic box to-go.
- Main St. Poke – Brought to you by the same team as Main St. Noodles, this is a little taste of Hawaii in the mountains. You can choose between diced fish, chicken and tofu with a selection of delicious sauces and veggie toppings served over greens, rice, quinoa or tortilla chips.
